It's life Jim, but not as we know it.

Well Sarah D, and Amy M's post have inspired me to update my page.  I don't do any better on my myspace page either.  :)  OK  Here we go.  I'm in end stage kidney failure.  I have to go to dialysis three times a week for 4-5 hours.  I had surgery and am healing up and training to do dialyisis at home.  The at home process is called CAPD (constant ambulatory peritoneal dialyisis)  For you science types the company who makes my supplies is Fresenius.  Their website has a section that explains it in every gory detail.  For the squeemish I'll be able to do it all at home.  The main advantage to this is that I'll be able to go back to teaching in January.  I've been out since the middle/end of September.  Our minivan died two weeks ago and we're getting a new car tomorrow.  Exciting!  Christopher (4.5) is very concerned that our SUV stayed at the car store tonight and we drove home a "borrowed" car.  I pray he adjusts.  I remember when my parents got a new car, I cried too.  I missed the old one.  I'm afraid Christopher is going to do the same thing. :(.  Life is rough when you're four.  Evelynn (2.5) moved to a "Big Girl Bed" toddler bed in October, since after surgery I couldn't lift more than 15 lbs.  We're waiting on the transplant people to get the paperwork together.  I'm calling the transplant coordinator tomorrow to see what I need to do.  Please pray that there is a living donor match in our first round of testing, at home dialysis change over goes smoothly, and my return to work goes smoothly.  Froehliche Weinachten and Merry Christmas, no promises I'll change anything before then.  ;)

    Is my name Job?

Hi there, Okay so I went to teacher meetings on Friday 08/08/08 with the beginings of a migraine.  By Monday I had missed church and had a full blow migraine for the first day of school.  That night my blood pressure was over 200.  I had been off my BP meds and I was paying for it.  On Wednesday (Our 9th aniversary) my bp was 215/125.  The doctor on call said to double my dose and call him the next day.  The doubled dose started working and a few days later the headache was less.  The next Monday on the way to my regular Dr. (Vickery) I was in a car wreck.  I turned left and she sped up.  I was bruised and lost my bumper but nothing really permanent.  Dan and Dad later fixed the bumper and headlight with some help from Christopher and Evelynn.  Dr. put me on sleeping pills that turned me into zombie mommy.  I could barely walk to the kitchen let alone teach.  I managed one full day at school that week.  Oh and did I mention I was vomitting through most of this?  I puked twice in class that Thursday and my department head sent me home.  That Friday I had an appointment with a Phrenologist sp?  Kdiney doctor.  Dr. VIckery had decided that my BP might be adrenaline related and sent me to the specialist.  The specialist ordered a MRI and bloodwork.  So I know nothing new from this visit.  Other than I need more tests.  So the next week I go  get the MRI.  (after working two volleyball games and still getting sick both at home and occasionally at school)  I get all suited up in scrubs get the IV started get into the MRI Tomb  (keep in mind I'm claustrophobic) and go through all the base line readings.  About 15 min.  THen the tech came to tell me that the computer froze right when they when to take the important picture with contrast.  THey can't give me anymore contrast today and I have to come back.  SHeez!  Do I go back on Monday.  No problems this time.  But throughout this I'm still vomitting and my Fibro is hurting all major muscle groups.  Sunday (yesterday) I woke up with a pain in my right knee.  I still went to church aches and pains and all.  THen Sunday night my feet and hands started to itch during the colts game (loser of a game) and I lotioned up.  At 4 AM I woke up scraping my skin from my hands.  I was ITCHING in a big way.  I raked of layers of skin I'm sure.  I lotioned up again in the dark and tried to rest.  I didn't go back to sleep, just laid there and itched.  THrough out the day today I've be scratching and twitching-I've got Hives.  SHeez oh pete is there more?  Hives?  on top of the rest of this pitiful soap opera, I've now got Hives.  Oh and I threw up twice today.  AHAHAHAHAHAH Okay so could you guys like pray for my health?

    July fun!

This last week of July we had a windfall of fun!  My inlaws got us tickets to meet Tony Stewart.DSCN1456 Christopher's trying to get daddy to let him sit in the car.

    DSCN1464 Here's Christopher getting Tony's Autograph.

Then we went to the sprint and midget race at ORP. Christopher loved the cars.  (Evelynn stayed with Mima).

Then Saturday we headed to Kentucky for Dan's cousin's baby shower.  We headed to Big Boy's for dinner afterwards.  Evelynn wasn't feeling to photogenic.

DSCN1479   This was when Dan's cousing Stacy (different cousin) gave us tickets to the Brickyard 400.  Dan and I went.  If you like NASCAR let me know and I post a few pit stop pics.  But as far as I know the girls who read this blog don't  follow stockcars.

THEN......Tuesday my in-laws had two extra tickets to Neil Diamond.  Dan and I had a blast.  I screamed and danced it was fun!  I got to hear my top four Neil songs.  1. Forever in Blue Jeans 2. I am ..I said 3. Brother Love's traveling Salvation Show 4. America.

Then my grad class started and I got overwhelmed by the syllabus.  Doing better now.  I shared with the class.  ICDAT.  One of them is going to use it in his classroom this fall.  :)  School starts for me Friday and the kids come Monday 8/11.  Pray that I stay on top of my grad work and grading papers.  I can't get behind!  Hope everyone is having a great August.

    DSCN1224 Evelynn's a cabbie at the Children's Museum

I've been chastised by my dearest Me'My to update this page.  Well I took off the Christmas theme.  To tell the truth I had left it that way so long b/c I didn't know how to change it.  Ha  Now my my social page skills have improved ( I have a myspace) and I've changed the background.  Busy summer with kiddos.   I thought we would be potty training, but Evelynn has other things on her agenda.  I've been reading a bunch and mentally planning out the next school year.  We're switching to block schedule and I'll have new textbooks.  Good thing that 60% of my students won't be new.  They'll know me well enough to know that the new rules are what sticks.

DSCN1226 Super Christopher @ the comic book exhibit.

I adore the Dyjak and Me'My Tom updates.  Sarah, you make me feel like a lousy mom sometimes.  I feed my kids microwaved spagetti rings.  But they love it and we balance it with fruit and as Evelynn says "Cheese me mommy CHeese me!"  Christohper is working over his fear of thunder.  He'll tell you he wants to grow up and make Chick-fil-a like his daddy.  Currently his other occupation choice is "Fire truck man."  Evelynn likes Roosters "Chicken-doo-doo" and Aligators-they bite.

I start Gradschool in July.  I'll be doing a Indiana Weslyean Online program for Master of Education.  Then school starts in early August.  AAAAAA

Next week we're going ona  family camping trip.  Ha Amy we're having Tuna salad- MAYO.  And then it'll be July 4th at the Johnsons.  Update Al and Sue have 5 Grandkids with another on the way.  Deena-3 Tom1* -due in fall and Fred 1-newest.  No new babies around my family, still just the 4 nephews and 6 nieces.

    DSCN1202 You smile!

Oh I've been praying for you former Klein women frequently.  Wes and Marcie Jackson's old Fall creek road house is up for sale and everytime we drive by I have fond memeories of our high school days there and send up a quick prayer for my me'my and my Wawa.

The front porch is calling...outside we must go.
